Bitch

英语bitch的原意本指雌性犬科动物（比如：母狗），现在也可以用作女性贬抑的歧视语，意思则辱骂年老而弱势的女性风骚下贱、淫妇，也有批评之意；也可用于男性。这个字出自1150年代的bicche，由古英语词bicce发展而来，并可能演变自古冰岛语的bikkja，《牛津英语词典》指出该字在西元1000年左右意思是「母狗」，用在生物上则是单纯的名词而无批评之用途，但罕见于文献中。
和中文的「婊子」用法类似。美国动划剧集《南方公园》其中一集卡胖辱骂凯尔的妈妈为bitch，以歌唱方式说出「Kyle's Mom's a Bitch」（中文播出时翻译为「凯尔他妈是婊子」）等内容。

在现代，这个字普遍被认为是冒犯语言，并且不被容许在正式场合出现。依照语言学家黛柏拉·泰南（Deborah Tannen）的说法，
